The Seven Oaks Executive Board consists of center members who are elected by the center council/membership to hold office and make decisions on behalf of the membership. The center council and executive board work to assist staff in accomplishing the center’s mission.
Penny Brown
Penny is the head of our board and our fearless President! You’ll often spot her bouncing between activities, always ready with a warm smile and an encouraging word. As our beloved Center Librarian, she keeps our shelves (and minds!) full of great stories, and she also leads our Caring Across the Community Group, spreading kindness wherever she goes. If something fun is happening, chances are, Penny is right in the middle of it!
Gina Wheeler
Our go-getter Vice President, Gina is always ready to take charge and keep the center moving in the right direction! Whether she’s breaking a sweat in a fitness class, keeping an eye on the fitness center, creating dazzling diamond art, planning our annual Holiday Party, or jumping in wherever help is needed, Gina does it all with enthusiasm and a smile. If there’s work to be done or fun to be had, you can bet Gina is right in the mix!
Rob Ermer
Rob is the heart and soul of our board, keeping everything in balance alongside Gail and Dale when it comes to finances!
As the chairperson of our annual Crab Feast, he’s the mastermind behind one of our most exciting events. When he's not crunching numbers, you can catch Rob having a blast at nearly every special event, always bringing a smile and a good time to the party!
Gail Smith
Gail is our warm and welcoming 1st Assistant Treasurer, always lending a hand to Rob with the financials that keep our council running smoothly. We honestly couldn’t do it without her (especially those of us who are a little numerically inclined). Gail is also a familiar face at our weekly Friday Café, so be sure to stop by and say hello – she’s always ready with a smile and a friendly chat!
Dale Mullineaux
Dale is our cheerful 2nd Assistant Treasurer, always ready to crack a joke and bring some laughter to the table! When he’s not keeping the board on track, you can find him having a good time playing Table Tennis or Pinochle. Dale’s energy and sense of humor are a big part of what makes our board so special!
Betty O'Carroll
Betty is our organized and dedicated Recording Secretary, the mastermind behind keeping all the notes in order for the council! Each meeting, she works tirelessly to ensure every detail is captured, keeping us all up to date and in the loop. When she’s not hard at work on the board, you’ll find Betty enjoying all the fun center celebrations and keeping an eye on things in the fitness center!
Peg Myers
Peg is our diligent Corresponding Secretary, the thoughtful person behind every “get well soon” and “happy birthday” card you’ve received from Seven Oaks! She puts her heart and soul into making sure our members feel appreciated and supported. When she’s not spreading kindness through the board, you can find Peg volunteering at the front desk, monitoring the fitness center, or immersed in one of her creative craft projects!
Ed Konig
Ed is our steadfast Sergeant at Arms, always making sure peace and order prevail during our discussions! But his talents don’t stop there – Ed is also an amazing cook and a dedicated volunteer. He’s the one behind our delicious breakfasts for Flag Day, Veteran’s Day, and Valentine’s Day, as well as the membership council lunch every other month. When he’s not cooking up a storm, Ed enjoys hosting soap carving classes and diving into his love for woodworking and stained glass.
Ken Dornbush
Ken is our Member at Large, taking charge of all the supply ordering at the center! He’s also the unsung hero when it comes to tech support, always ready to tackle any technology challenge that comes his way. When he’s not helping the board run smoothly, Ken can be found volunteering at Friday Café, assisting at the front desk, or stepping in wherever he's needed. His versatility, tech-savvy skills, and willingness to lend a hand make him an invaluable part of our team!
Wayne Knowles
Wayne joined our board as a Member at Large in December 2024 and has quickly become an essential voice, bringing fresh and diverse perspectives to the table. Not only does he contribute his valuable insights, but Wayne also knows how to bring the flavor – he’s the mastermind behind our beloved annual Shrimp Feast!
Jim Lightner
Jim may have once been our council president, but he continues to share his wealth of experience and wisdom with our board, offering valuable insight and guidance to our current president. You can often find Jim at the center leading his thought-provoking monthly TED Talk Discussions or volunteering on the Commission of Aging Board. His friendly smile and welcoming demeanor make him a favorite among both new and returning members.
Nancy Bach
Nancy may have once been our council president, but she’s still a cornerstone of our board, offering her wealth of experience and valuable advice to our current president. Whether it’s participating in special events around the center or lending a hand in our Caring Across the Community Group, Nancy is always involved and ready to make a difference. Her dedication and positive energy continue to inspire and guide our community!
